Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop and analyze system power models to drive hardware battery life, thermal, and power management goals. Model consumer electronics hardware power and performance behavior with simulation and CAD tools. Measure power of individual subcomponents of consumer electronics hardware. Define power requirements for common customer usage scenarios. Summarize data and report power model estimates and lab measurement data to cross-functional teams to identify and implement power optimizations to improve battery life and performance. Develop prototype hardware to facilitate lab measurements. Validate system power using lab measurements of prototype hardware. Set up and maintain prototype hardware and measurement equipment. Design electrical circuits for testing and in-system measurements. Develop software scripts to automate lab measurements using Matlab and Python. Maintain calibration for lab equipment and hardware prototypes. Debug unexpected system behavior and power consumption and drive solutions. Calculate system power estimates for usage scenarios to quantify performance, evaluate risks, and guide design optimizations.
International & Domestic Travel Required: 5% 40 hours/week.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,091 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience and/or education must include:
Electrical engineering circuit analysis to design Flex and debug high power consuming circuits.
Software scripting for automation to automate test cases and analyze data.
Measurement equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies to perform experiments and validate system capabilities.
Electrical power trace analysis to understand system power consumption.
Power measurement of silicon ICs and related electrical components to validate total system power consumption is within expectations.
Electrical board design and fabrication to design custom debug flex which helps in validating power consumption of system.
Data visualization software development to help to visualize complex data in consumable format for cross-functional teams.
