Commissioning Engineer

Are you a detail-oriented engineering professional with a passion for optimizing building systems and ensuring operational excellence? We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to oversee and manage commissioning activities for projects in the Central Ohio area. This role offers the opportunity to lead commissioning efforts, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive quality assurance in critical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure alignment with project goals.

Develop and implement commissioning test scripts, detailed project schedules, and commissioning plans.

Lead on-site commissioning activities, coordinating with customers and managing supporting personnel.

Maintain and track commissioning issues logs, ensuring timely resolution of project-related concerns.

Prepare and oversee commissioning deliverables, including final reports, schedules, and compliance documentation.

Participate in and lead client meetings, providing expert guidance on commissioning processes.

Support project management efforts, including proposal development, budgeting, invoicing, and change order management.

Assist in developing standardized commissioning procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency.

Mentor and train team members, contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives such as quarterly Lunch & Learn sessions and industry blog posts.

Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and certification requirements to maintain high professional standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Systems, or a related field (preferred).

Experience with commissioning, project management, or construction administration in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical environments.

Strong knowledge of building systems, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and control sequences .

Familiarity with industry standards and commissioning best practices .

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to travel locally for on-site commissioning activities.
