Description
RCC Power & Energy, LLC is seeking a talented Geotechnical Engineer to help us build the future of U.S. energy production from our Round Rock, TX office. Essential Responsibilities:
Evaluate site condition and develop project specific geotechnical testing plan.
Arrange and oversee field drilling and logging, rock coring, and field geotechnical testing.
Review field logs of boring, soil samples, and make appropriate modifications to the logs of boring as necessary.
Perform pile load testing, data reduction and provide engineering recommendations for driven pile foundation design and optimization for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.
Serve as an engineering Project Engineer for utility-scale solar energy and BESS projects, effectively managing on-site geologists/subcontractors, laboratory technicians, and ensuring seamless communication with clients regarding project progress and deliverables.
Oversee the planning and execution of subsurface investigation and the laboratory testing program for site characterization.
Perform complex geotechnical engineering and soil-structure analyses for evaluation of shallow and deep foundation systems, earthwork recommendations, dewatering during construction, settlement calculations, slope stability, and access roadway design.
Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and specifications for renewable energy projects.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, associated risks to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates, and in compliance with relevant regulations and ASTM standards.
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary design team, subcontractors, and clients.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related, is required.
Experience can come from coursework.
Proficiency required in AutoCAD, MATLAB, and C++.
Must have experience with GIS mapping programs.
Must have field experience with conducting geotechnical subsurface investigations, including geotechnical drilling, sampling, visual field reconnaissance, soil and rock logging, and performing geophysical surveys.
National travel required 30%. Must have a valid driver’s license.
