Description
Turnkey Processing Solutions, LLC is looking for a Construction Superintendent. The Superintendent is responsible for oversight and management of multiple industrial construction projects, including supervision of field foremen. This role supports operations through assistance, training, and understanding of best practices in common operational processes, procedures, and systems in order to increase revenues and profitability. The Superintendent demonstrates role model behaviors on safety, ethics, and integrity, as well as positively promoting company culture, quality and customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as senior technical advisor to all project field foremen and skilled trade workers to assist in construction or start-up problems.
Responsible for development and implementation of best practice construction means & methods for multiple locations.
Represents the company, interfacing and building relationships with owners, customers, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors.
Ensures all projects operate safely and efficiently at all times, identifying and addressing potential safety violations or other deficiencies.
Ensures all company, operations, and technical policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to. Interpret policies as required.
Hires, manages, trains and develops employees; manage performance of employees – including conducting performance appraisals.
Coaches, evaluates and trains field foremen and skilled trade workers in the performance of construction projects.
Communicates company goals to all levels of project personnel including field foremen and skilled trade workers.
Ensures foremen, project employees, etc., are both results oriented and operating as a team.
Is accountable for and takes ownership of their own and team members’ actions, ensuring all responsibilities are fulfilled as expected.
Authorize/approve all personnel transactions (hires, transfers, wages, etc.), in conjunction with Project and Operations Managers.
Assists with implementation and interpretation of safety programs. Assist in the development of supervision training programs.
Ensures that all jobs are completed according to plans, on time and within budget; develops schedules and cost-effective plans for completion of assigned projects; monitors budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur.
Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to Project and Operations management; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
Delivers timely and accurate reports, financials, schedules and budgets on a regular basis as dictated by company procedures.
Manages tools and equipment utilization on projects, equipment storage, and maintenance.
Maintains strict confidentiality in all communications pertaining to sensitive employment issues and all forms of compensation.
Complies with and enforces all MSHA, OSHA, company and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Travels as required.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a superintendent or similar position, industrial construction experience preferred.
Minimum 7 years' experience in the aggregate industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field preferred.
Experience with industrial project management or project consulting a plus.
Supervisory experience in an industrial construction environment preferred.
Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
Able to read blueprint and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to oversee, coordinate, and motivate a variety of people in different roles.
Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations.
High awareness of Safety at all times, constant awareness of others' safety as well as your own.
Agree to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the company.
Ability to work long shifts and/or on-call when required to manage projects effectively, address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other jobsite issues.
Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching; ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Must be able and willing to travel.
Successfully pass pre-employment drug test, motor vehicle record check, background check, and physical/occupational screenings.
