The Personal Training Program Manager works with the Senior Assistance Director of Programs (program director) to manage the Personal Training program at Ambler Student Recreation Center (ASRFC). Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
35% Administration
Assisting with programming and administration of the personal training and fitness assessment program.
Assisting with reviewing client forms and assigning clients to personal trainers.
Record keeping.
Assisting with interviewing and training new personal trainers.
Assisting with the ACE Personal Training Prep Course.
Enforcing policies and procedures.
Evaluating personal trainers.
Ensuring client records are current.
Assisting with coordinating staff meetings and staff trainings.
Implementing risk management when necessary.
Frequently use Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel.35% Communication
Communicating with program director, personal trainers, clients, and potential clients including checking email account.
Communicating between personal trainers and program director.
Promptly alerting program director with any concerns or questions.15% Programming
Conducting selectorized and spotting training for personal trainers and weight room specialists.
Planning and implementing programs and special events.
Developing new program ideas.15% Other
General program troubleshooting.
Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule
Program manager will work up to 10 hours weekly during the day, afternoon, evenings and various weekend hours.
Miranda Kolenda
Possesses current CPR/AED certification, or willing to obtain within 4 weeks of employment.
Currently possesses and maintains a NCCA accredited personal training certification such as ACE, NSCA, NASM, ACSM, etc.
Previous experience in personal training at ASRFC or currently employed at ASRFC.
Knowledge of exercise and how to use strength and cardio equipment as demonstrated in the application materials
Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health or related major.
The Personal Training Program Manager is responsible for the daily operations of Personal Training program and administration of various personal training events.

Position Requirements
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
