Your Position: Valet Attendant (Part Time
Summary: The Valet Attendant parks vehicles and provides customer service to condominium residents while maintaining the security and curb appeal of the facilities. Completes all duties with professionalism and friendliness. This position is part time, hours will be 11a - 7p & 3pm-11am and will require weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Parks and retrieves vehicles in the garage while maintaining an organized and secured car key storage system.
- Provides a high level of customer service by smiling and greeting residents as they enter the garage and through services such as:
Offering carts and retrieving packages from vehicles
Filling low tires (with vehicle owner permission)
Lifting garbage into proper bin
Providing escort services from parking lot to lobby entrance between sunset and sunrise, as requested
Maintaining a listing of resident parking spaces and preferences (i.e. backed into space) and parks/moves cars according to those preferences, etc.
- Demonstrates professionalism through:
A clean appearance and dress,
Clear and respectful verbal communication
Area cleanliness and organization
An even temperament, etc.
- Works with the Front Desk Attendant to:
Check in guests
Prepare call-ahead vehicles, etc.
- Respects resident’s vehicles by:
Refraining from adjusting seat when possible
Not adjusting radio
Not moving belongings left in vehicles
Addressing vehicles left unsecured/with open windows, etc.
- Manages flow of vehicles through the garage by:
Assisting owners entering/exiting vehicles to encourage speedier movement
Ensuring vehicles exiting the garage yield to vehicles entering the garage
Promptly parking vehicles blocking drive lanes, etc.
- Assists maintenance staff and janitorial staff by:
Retrieving dumpsters for weekly trash and recycling pickups
Monitoring floor drains and sump pump for stoppage
Minor and non-emergency maintenance tasks that may arise outside of business hours
Minor spill/mess cleanups that may arise outside of business hours
Other small tasks as requested.
- Monitors, prevents, and reports improper use of trash receptacles such as:
Dumping of bulk and toxic items (appliances, paint & chemicals, etc.)
Dumping of bagged (not loose) recycling
Breaking down of boxes
Items not placed in proper receptacle
Inspecting receptacles and properly addressing when overflowing
Inspecting trash chutes and compactor periodically to ensure they are free from blockage and operating properly, etc.
- Serves as a general security presence by:
Monitoring camera playback for suspicious activity
Conducting periodic rounds of the garage and basement hallways to ensure all is secure
Ensuring all garage doors are closed and secured when not in active use
Ensuring building and garage access is restricted to residents and allowed guests only
Ensuring all guests check in with the Front Desk Attendant,
- Maintains cleanliness during every shift by:
Sweeping floor
Wiping and tidying the valet restroom
Organizing carts
Tidying valet office, etc.
