Salary Information: The salary range is $49,911-$109,469 per the Faculty CBA Salary Scale. Teachers will be hired and employed in the highest category of teaching staff to which they are entitled in accordance with the degrees and certifications that they hold and the subjects and levels that they teach. In addition to base compensation, this position is eligible for: additional duties pay, paid time off, paid holidays, and health and retirement benefits enrollment, which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 403(b) plan.

The FLE Teacher will perform all or some of the following Job description:
Prepare and conduct lessons for students whose language skills range from beginning to advanced using appropriate materials and techniques in order to meet the French Language standards as described in the French Common Core of knowledge, skills and cultures
Conduct instruction in an inclusive setting (co-teaching) and a pull-out setting.
Administer French language proficiency tests, analyze data in order to assess student proficiency in French and develop appropriate instruction programs.
Administer French language proficiency tests, analyze data for new students applying at Rochambeau in order to advise the admission department and administration about student proficiency level and capacity in following the secondary French curriculum.
Run structured activities supported by materials, lesson plans & training
Notify and meet parents about results and instruction programs and make sure they have access to all information.
Discuss results and progress with teachers, explain how to accommodate students French Language needs.
Closely collaborate with mainstream teachers about lesson plans, class organization and resources to accommodate FLE students.
Collaborate with School Director and teachers and primary FLE teachers to develop and coordinate specific plans for implementing school curriculum for FLE students
Attend weekly and or periodic teachers' or departmental meetings as needed.
Attend school events outside regular school hours including, but not limited to: curriculum night, new family events, student socials, open houses, & professional development sessions
Participate in required periodic teacher trainings and teacher meetings
Provide supervision for out-of-classroom activities, break periods, or other supervision as necessary. Minimum Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Education or a related field. Undergraduate and or graduate transcripts must be submitted.
Eight years of progressive, post-baccalaureate teaching experience in a school preferred. Must be fluent in spoken and written English and meet eligibility requirements to teach in the State of Maryland. Must have solid knowledge of French Curriculum.
Teaching certificate in French Language Education from France or applicable teaching fields preferred. Skills and Abilities Required:
Native or near native French fluency.
Familiar with second language acquisition pedagogy.
High degree of cultural competency.
Strong knowledge of co-teaching methods
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work successfully with colleagues on a team
Skills in building an equitable classroom community. Positively support the school's mission, policies and practices and work collaboratively in a professional organization.
Able to use strong written and oral communication skills to transfer thoughts and express ideas
Maintain confidentiality and security of information.
Hold self and others accountable to accomplish results.

Familiar with Google Suite, ability to learn and work with the school's integrated data-based software package as needed.
