Trillium Professional is now seeking a Director of IT Support for Patient Access and Business Applications in Glendale!

Director of IT Support for Patient Access and Business Applications, the counterpart to the RCM Director role. This one focuses on Patient Registration, Scheduling, Medical Records, and other administrative systems, and also reports to the Executive Director of IT for Revenue Cycle and Business Applications.

A large healthcare system is seeking a Director of IT Support for Patient Access and Business Applications to lead the technical operations supporting patient-facing and administrative systems. This Director will be responsible for applications related to Patient Registration, Scheduling, Medical Records, and other core business functions, ensuring they are efficient, compliant, and aligned with clinical and operational goals.

Reporting to the Executive Director of IT for Revenue Cycle and Business Applications, this leadership role will oversee a team of IT professionals focused on supporting and enhancing enterprise platforms such as Meditech (and/or other EHRs), patient access tools, and business operations systems. The role requires a hands-on leader with deep healthcare IT experience and the ability to manage technical teams and drive systems performance in support of patient access and administrative workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

-Direct the IT support function for Patient Registration, Scheduling, Medical Records, and other business applications not directly tied to RCM.

-Lead a team of analysts and support staff in maintaining and enhancing the performance, reliability, and usability of administrative IT systems.

-Collaborate with operational leaders in patient access and health information management to optimize workflows, improve system functionality, and meet evolving organizational needs.

-Oversee system upgrades, data integrity, and integrations with EHRs, scheduling tools, document management systems, and reporting platforms.

-Participate in vendor contract reviews, selection, and ongoing relationship management to ensure system effectiveness and adherence to SLAs.

-Coordinate and lead testing, go-live support, and post-implementation validation for new tools and enhancements across patient access systems.

-Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and applicable state/federal laws.

-Promote innovation through automation, data-driven decision-making, and process optimization across patient-facing administrative operations.

-Support strategic initiatives and digital transformation efforts in collaboration with the Executive Director and other IT and operational leaders.

-Develop, mentor, and manage a high-performing technical support team with a focus on excellence and customer service.

-Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

-8+ years of experience in healthcare IT, with a strong focus on patient access and business applications.

-3+ years of direct team management experience, including leading technical staff in a healthcare setting.

-Strong working knowledge of Meditech and/or other major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner), especially modules for registration, scheduling, HIM, and document management.

-Proven ability to support large-scale system implementations and integrations in a hospital or health system environment.

-Experience in vendor relationship management, including contract review and performance oversight.

-Ability to work EST hours and travel as needed for project go-lives, testing, and validation.

-Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
