Corporate Project Engineer - Mechanical

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide mechanical engineering services and support in order to promote safe, efficient, and reliable production runs to operations including the implementation and delivery of cost-effective capital and major maintenance projects.
What You Will Do:
Assist in the conceptualization, development, and execution of capital projects
Develop a detailed scope of work, budgets, and schedules
Assist in preparation of Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) requests
Assist with project construction, commissioning, and handover
Consult with supervisors, tradespeople, operators, and purchasers
Provide input into the design and optimization of equipment to maximize reliability and performance
Solicit contractors, vendors, and consultants
Conduct engineering reviews of project plans, drawings, materials, and installations
Ability to coordinate, facilitate and conduct internal and external project review meetings
Supervise trades and contractors for safety and quality
Act as a point of contact/liaison, provide technical support for consulting engineers, contractors, suppliers, and external agencies
Travel to all US manufacturing facilities to provide technical support including troubleshooting, problem-solving, equipment assessments, and sharing of best practices and corporate standards
Study and understand process flows, and equipment functionality
Handle a wide range of verbal, written, and presentation communications including progress report writing, presentations on project status to peers, managers, and mill employees
Provide auxiliary support to facilities for shutdowns, safety projects, and other duties as assigned
Understand and apply applicable external codes and standards and regulations (ie. OSHA, NFPA, Building Code, etc.)
Assist in the development of internal safety and project standards
Special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications You Will Need:
Completion of a Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution is required
Excellent skills in all forms of communication
The ability to read Civil, Structural, and Mechanical Drawings is required
Proven interpersonal and leadership/supervisory skills including planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring of work activities to achieve project objectives
Strong computer skills with experience in MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Power BI are required
Strong problem-solving and project management skills are required
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Self-starter with a desire to progress, learn, grow and succeed
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with all levels of the organization
