The Site/Civil Design Engineer will work alongside structural and electrical engineers in the Power group to complete various projects for commercial, utility, and industrial clients. The Site/Civil Design Engineer will utilize technical skills and expertise to complete projects accurately, professionally, and within the established budget and time frame.

Essential Functions

Prepare design documents and engineering calculations for grading and earthwork, storm drain systems, sanitary sewer systems, water systems, utility coordination, access roads, environmental, and other site-related tasks.

Prepare drawings and analysis calculations utilizing the governing codes and standards.

Use computer-assisted engineering design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents.

Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of project proposals.

Provide support to the client with permitting documents and compliance.

Review work for completeness and accuracy before submitting it to ensure PJF QA/QC standards are followed.

Sign and seal engineering documents; maintain Professional Development Hours (PDH) for PE registrations, if licensed.

Perform field inspections.

Attend and participate in internal and client meetings.

Maintain good client relations by providing excellent customer service.

Maintain a positive and professional work environment by acting and communicating in a kind and professional manner with clients, coworkers, and management.

Actively pursue opportunities to learn and increase technical knowledge through self-study, webinars, seminars, etc.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures as stated in the current PJF Employee Policy and Procedure Manual. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Working knowledge of civil engineering design and calculations.

Strong working knowledge and efficiency in Microsoft Office.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.

Ability to learn company-owned software. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.

3-8 Years experience in civil site development, transportation, or related field. Work Environment and Physical Demands

Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Must be able to walk on a construction site in the utility right-of-way or other unimproved terrains during project site visits, for up to eight or more hours, and in inclement weather, if required.

May be required to travel to visit a client's office or construction job site may be required.

Due to the collaborative nature of this position and accessibility for in-house and on-site client meetings, it is essential that the work be performed in the office and during regular business hours.

This job operates in a professional office environment. Supervisory Responsibilities
