Graduate Recruiter - Health Sciences
JOB SUMMARY
The Office of Graduate Admissions and the graduate recruiter report to the Director of Admissions while working interdependently with graduate programs. The Graduate Recruiter is responsible for representing Spalding University to multiple constituencies, including prospective online and in person adult students, and community contacts. This role will help in the expansion and diversification of Spalding University's Health Science student population and geographical reach. The recruiter will independently develop and implement recruiting initiatives and campaigns to meet application and enrollment goals. The recruiter will conduct a holistic review of university graduate applications. This position must be effective at independently planning recruitment strategies including, but not limited to community college and community partner receptions and individual meetings.
Salary range for this position is $43,000 with a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical coverage, 403b, 22 Paid Time Off days, 21 Holidays, tuition remission, travel reimbursement, cellphone allowance, and more.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Graduate Recruiter manages and leads the processes involved in the recruitment and onboarding of all Health Science Graduate Students.
Evaluate applications for admission, working with the Directors of the graduate programs and academic liaisons to best connect and leverage our academic areas.
Excellent lead/inquiry management and understanding of a fast paced sales cycle
Understand and be able to articulate the design, format and value of the Graduate programs to prospective students.
Develop alliances and partnerships with area businesses/employers through regular visits and routine recruitment contacts.
Represent Spalding Unviersity in Community outreach programs and activities.
Develop an integrated tracking process for each applicant that includes post-application evaluation.
Monitor the inquiry, prospect, application and deposit numbers on a regular basis to focus on attaining assigned objectives.
Ensure that all inbound and outbound communication with prospects and applicants is accurately recorded in an extremely timely manner within Slate.
Nurture, build, and sustain ongoing professional relationships with prospective Graduate students to achieve assigned enrollment management objectives.
Provide monthly or quarterly reports to Dean, Director of Admissions and Program Directors.
Practice good customer service in all work activities.
Work cooperatively as a member of a team in all assignments.
Typical Work Schedule: 9 - 5:30pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm (hours can be negotiated based upon recruitment needs). May require occasional weekends or evenings for recruitment events.
Initiate a high volume of outbound communication with prospective students.
Tracks how students are moving through the admissions cycle from initial contact to enrollment to achieve individual and team target goals.
Work with the Director of Admissions and Graduate Faculty to determine markets of interest.
Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
Strong organization skills with a proven ability to multi-task and navigate frequent priority shifts.
Ability to quickly establish rapport and develop relationships with multiple constituencies.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with community partners and community organizations to support prospective student pathways.
Travel to surrounding counties and states.
Facilitate campus tours and visits for prospective students.
Support day-to-day functions of the Admissions Office.
Follow up with enrolled graduate students in an informal, as needed basis.
Other Duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions. Qualifications
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Strong recruitment, sales, and customer service skills combined with a strong work ethic and a goal-oriented, self-motivated approach toward achieving consistent results.
Computer skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as experience using customer relationship management systems (CRM) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Excellent communication and listening abilities: persuasive and negotiation skills, strong professional writing, public speaking, interpersonal and public relations skills.
2-5 years recruitment, marketing, and/or publicrelations/communications experience.
Experience creating promotional marketing material is a plus.
SLATE experience preferred.
3 years' experience in Recruitment, Admissions, or Higher Education.
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or communication .
Must have a valid drivers license. INTERRELATIONS
Regular or daily contact with Dean of Graduate Education, Director of Admissions, Program Director, Enrollment Technology Coordinator, faculty, staff, and students.
Regular contact with the general public.
Must have an appreciation and respect for diverse populations.
