About the role
AGL's HSE Energy Hubs & Construction team have an opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor.
Based in Adelaide at our Torrens Island Power Station, the role will focus on health & safety demolition works, hazmat removal, site transition and collaborating across teams to ensure projects are completed safely.
What you’ll be doing
Actively engage in and support the implementation of Health and Safety programs for AGL Asset Closure and Transition.
Collaborating with business units, sharing insights, proposing solutions, and ensuring compliance with H&S standards.
Coach stakeholders in risk management, including safety interactions and environmental observations, to reduce health and safety risks.
Performing risk management activities including risk assessments and critical control checks.
Applying risk management principles proactively and identify improvement opportunities.
Supporting incident investigations to find root causes and set preventative measures, as well as coaching in developing investigation skills.
Supporting and measuring application of the Contractor Management Framework through ongoing engagement with key business unit stakeholders.
Assisting with reporting health and safety incidents, in accordance with the HSE Incident Management and Reporting Procedure.
What you’ll bring to the table
Tertiary qualification in WHS (Certificate IV minimum)
Health & Safety experience in Heavy Industrial, Construction/ Demolition and High-Risk Industries
Interpersonal skills with high quality accurate written and verbal communication skills
Proven people/stakeholder engagement skills
Effective project management skills
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Strong risk management skills
Strong experience with Contractor management
Incident Investigation and Management
3 - 5 years' experience
