POSITION SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Management Trainee is an individual who is highly motivated and qualified to assume leadership and management positions within Paragon Films. The position requires solid technical and mechanical skills while embracing the coaching and cultural spirit within our organization. The Management Trainee gains an expert level of understanding of the functions of each role within the production department while learning the business operation functions of the organization. While the position will have no direct reports, the Management Trainee will exemplify leadership skills and provide guidance and coaching to production staff. This individual demonstrates an elevated level of self-motivation and can work under little to no supervision. This candidate may be required to relocate.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Trains on each position within the plant production department through a rotational program gaining an expert level of knowledge of each role and its functional tasks while working side by side with production employees.
Learns and provides quality suggestions for improving efficiency and maximizing operational efforts either through process improvement, mechanical perspective and/or overall organizational perspective.
Gains a thorough understanding of quality standards, applies those standards while in the rotational program on the production floor, and provides leadership to others by demonstrating quality expectations.
Gains an in-depth understanding of Safety Procedures and guidelines, providing leadership regarding Safety procedures while on the production floor, acts as a resource to other employees regarding safety matters, participating and taking a lead role in the employee-led safety steering committee or sub-committee.
Works closely with management to foster and develop strong mentorship, coaching and managerial skills; while adhering to the Paragon Code of Honor and Employee Handbook, acting as a champion of the Paragon employer and employee relationship.
Develops knowledge of business operations gaining a basic understanding of budgeting, labor costs, materials cost, product life cycle, scheduling, etc. related associated with production and operations.
Gains exposure to and an understanding of Quality and Research and Development and how it connects and operates with Production.
Acts as a liaison between production and other departments, attending meetings related to production operations.
Begins to gain a basic understanding of employment laws and managerial responsibilities.
Works on special projects, and provides staffing relief when needed within the Production Department.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to use hands including fingers to hold, touch, see, feel, grip, squeeze, push, pull.
Ability to perform pushing, pulling, and forward exertion on a regular basis.
Ability to have an overhead extension with arms on a regular basis.
Ability to use enhanced levels of manual dexterity with arms and hands to operate industrial power tools occasionally.
Ability to stand and walk continuously on a concrete floor for 12-hour shifts.
Ability to stand, crouch, stoop, bend, and squat frequently.
Ability to kneel occasionally.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally.
Ability to work on elevated platforms.
Ability to climb on uneven surfaces occasionally.
Ability to regularly lift and or move up to 45-55lbs.
Ability to occasionally lift and or move up to 65lbs.
Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person and over paging system.
Ability to meet requirements of and utilize all PPE when required.
EDUCATION
Associate's degree or equivalent in a related discipline or demonstrated knowledge of Paragon Film’s processes and procedures through only the job training combined with proven leadership skills and abilities.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Industrial, Chemical Engineering or related field
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The physical environment requires the employee to work indoors in a hot or cold and moderately loud environment. Required to use PPE while performing job functions.
SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS
Work involves overtime, shift rotations, and schedule changes. Requires adherence to deadlines and project completion deadlines.
