Full Time Cook

Salary Range $70,000 and $80,000 per annum plus Superannuation

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation, cooking and presenting dishes within your specialty

• Assist with stock ordering and monitoring procedures

• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety at all times

• Demonstrate excellent food preparation practices, portion control and end to end food production

• Take responsibility for delivering the highest measures of food production and presentation to customers including manning the live cooking stations if required

• Ensure complete customer satisfaction, through provision and quality, control of food, hygiene and service adopting a customer-focused approach at all times

• To ensure the kitchen is always clean, tidy and hygienic

• Prepare special meals or substitute items.

• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.

• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator. Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish.

• Maintain food logs. Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared.

• To assist the head chef/manager in the organisation and controlling of all kitchen operations

MAIN DUTIES:

• Conduct food preparation and beautifully present dishes according to the menu

• Assist in menu planning, identifying food costs and estimating purchasing needs

• Maintain food service standards and quality of dishes prepared, ensuring portions and plating are following the menu standard

• Ensure work safety, cleanliness and sanitation and proper equipment handling

• Stocktake inventory and purchase more supplies with suppliers as needed

• Keep food and service records of dishes and kitchen operations

• Conduct demonstration to other kitchen staff as part of induction/training

• Perform all other duties required in the kitchen

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery qualification or equivalent.

• Qualified cook with at least 2 years' experience.

• Great organisational skills with an acute attention to detail.

• Works willingly as part of the team
