Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)

Doctoral Degree (or a foreign equivalent) in Molecular and Cell Biology or a closely related field completed by April 2025.

Demonstrated proficiency in the following techniques:

● VivosX analysis.

● Genome-wide mapping of chromatin factors.

● Biochemical purification of chromatin remodeling complexes.

● Yeast strain construction and genetic manipulation.

● Manipulation of the universal histone tester system.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Proficiency in computation analysis of genomic data.

● Experience with fluorescence-based biochemical assays.

Brief Description of Duties:

The Postdoctoral Associate will support the Principal Investigator Dr. Ed Luk in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments comply with the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.

Key Responsibilities:

● Conduct research experiments within the field of chromatin biology and genome regulation.

● Collect and analyze data, including literature reviews and specialized analytical approaches.

● Assist in manuscript preparation for journal publication and/or presentations. May also contribute to grant writing.

● Perform lab maintenance, including equipment upkeep and ordering necessary supplies.

● Participate in scientific conferences and meetings as required.

● Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
