Position Summary:
The CI Department Manager is responsible for deploying YMMC strategic initiatives, growing YMMC's Yamaha Production System through Strong Gemba principals, executing comprehensive skill up of Mfg human resources, overseeing performance improvement projects (CI, Lean, Business, Shop Floor) and growing YMMC's CI culture Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Develop & deploy YMMC strategic initiatives throughout YMMC
Standardize Yamaha Production System throughout YMMC utilizing Strong Gemba principals
Hyoujun Soubi, Zensu Ryouhin, Theoretical Value Production (TVP-VAA), Shukushuku, 5S/6F, and Break Even Point Management (BEP)
Deploy YMC Global Training strategy
Chair YMMC Education Steering Committee
Co-develop and directly execute the comprehensive YMMC Mfg skills training program with Human Resources
Skill up all functions, all levels of common skills, craft skills, job specific skills, growth/development skills, Supervisor/Leader skills, and Manager skills
Management Chair, mentor, and Global rep for YMMC's Foreman Circle
Committee Chair for 5-Star program and strong assist for execution throughout YMMC
Co-identify and oversee campus wide business/shop floor performance projects, productivity, OEE, TVP-VAA, material flow synchronization, quality, business value stream, etc.
Through CI resources, support each dept MTP/Annual Planned Improvements
Analyze business process, value stream mapping, and ROI to prioritize initiatives
Grow YMMC CI culture bottom up through training, CI internship, with Kaizen, Small Group, and Kaizen Blitz programs Qualifications
Education / Experience:
BS in Engineering (IE/ME strongly preferred)
20 years Industrial Mfg experience
Prefer Production/Engineering including Automotive/Tier 1 Automotive
Functional experience in Assembly, Injection Molding, Welding, Painting, Stamping is strongly preferred
10yrs YMMC mfg/engineering experience
MBA strongly preferred
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred
Certified Lean Manufacturing Champion strongly preferred
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Formal problem solving training
Demonstrated ability to manage sideways through peer functions to drive business results
Highly proficient MS-Office PC skills (Excel, Powerpoint, prefer Visio, Access, AutoCAD)
Proficient project management and presentation skills
