The Associate Territory Manager (ATM) is responsible for learning the Account Manager role and gaining knowledge of Strategic Transformation Selling Techniques, while also maintaining a partial inside sales role within the low pressure team. The inside Sales position is expected to interact with customers, providing information in response to inquiries about our products, along with handling and resolving customer's complaints. They are a support mechanism for outside sales and managers within the corporation so that we can provide optimal service to all areas of the business. The ATM program is an intensive hands-on and interactive experience that will prepare individuals for a successful career with Worthington Enterprises. Individuals will begin their training in the manufacturing environment and then progress to the sales functions. This career path requires an outgoing and assertive personality with good communication skills. The ATM will be eligible for an Account Manager position following the completion of their training program, and will be relocated and moved as necessary. The ATM will report directly to the Regional Sales Manager.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Relationships: Strengthen all current and potential customer relationships in the assigned areas of responsibility by building trust, valuing and collaborating with others and demonstrating the highest integrity in balancing the support of customer needs with what is best for the business
Marketing Analysis: Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities within OSC for the assigned territory
Work directly with the assigned customers to determine accurate forecasts and maintain this information with Futurcast to allow for transparent communication within Worthington to promote efficient planning at our production facilities which result in our continuing ability to service our customers while providing for efficient execution within our production facilities
Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge in all areas that enable the abilities to provide effective sales presentations of Worthington's product offering
Strategic Planning: Develop annual business plans in conjunction with the Regional Sales Director detailing activities to follow during the fiscal year which focus on exceeding sales goal objectives
Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments
Assist in researching and identifying potential customers
Remain current on all relevant product, technology, customer and industry knowledge and trends
Provide efficiency and organization with accounts and job duties in terms of accuracy and attention to detail
Handles all situations in the best interest of the customer and the company
Has extensive knowledge of the industry and customer base Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Strong planning, time management and communication skills
15%-20% travel will be required (Based on market conditions and WE, Customer, Govt. travel policies)
The ability to develop strong negotiation skills as well as the ability to gain the trust of the customer
Efficient computer skills in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OSC and TEAMs
Demonstrated ability to proactively and positively accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously
Good attitude, team player, willingness to take on more are a must
Previous voice of customer experience a plus
Must be a self-starter
Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills Education / Training Required
Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University, preferably with a focus on Sales/Marketing or related field of study
