API Engineer- AWS+Kafka (Platform Operation and Automation)

API Platform Operation Engineer opportunity.

Looking for Sr and Intermediate recourses (multiple roles) for participating in the operationalization of Enterprise API Platform solutions. Open to Jr Candidates with AWS/API/Kafka.

You'll participate in the operations (support, deployment and rollout of components) in API Platforms both in the cloud and on premise, as well as in the operations and support of the Enterprise Event Hub with Kafka, and PI and micro-services.

Duration: F/T employment

Location: Ontario / hybrid, but can be remote within Canada (EST time zone)

Must-Haves:

Canadian Security clearance or eligibility for Security Clearance (5+y of residency in Canada, clear criminal records, Canadian PR or Citizenship) - non-negotiable/can't consider candidates with less than 5y in Canada

Experience in operations and implementing API framework

3-6 years of Application support and Operations

At least 3-year development experience with Java

At least 3-year working in AWS cloud, especially in AWS services like EKS, EC2

DevOps, Containers/Docker, Kubernetes experience (or very strong understanding)

Kafka/ Confluent technologies (minimum 1 year)

REST API design standards, good working knowledge of API design specifications like Open API Spec, RAML

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.

Jr Candidates must have 2-3 years for relevant experience with at least 1y of Kafka+API+AWS services

Other Requirements/Working Knowledge:

Specialization in API architecture frameworks, security, patterns, model and delivery

Expertise with scripting languages to automate operations tasks

API development in AWS Serverless environment working with AWS Lambda and AWS API Gateway etc.

Deploying components on Kubernetes, using Kustomize, Helm Charts and/or K8s operators

Exposure to using Authentication and Authorization solutions with REST APIs. Knowledge of standards like OAuth and OpenID is a plus

CI/CD solutions (like Jenkins, Ansible, CDD Continuous Delivery Director)

Spring Boot (including secure coding practices, load-testing and performance optimization)
