Scope of Position
Under the direction of the Director – Rural and Appalachian Healthcare Extension (RAHE), the Manager, Rural and Appalachian Healthcare Extension Operations supports the identification and development of operational efficiencies, annual strategic goals and objectives, financial and capital budget, as well as administrative direction of the RAHE in collaboration with the Director. This position will partner with Rural and Appalachian Healthcare Extension leadership to plan, develop, implement, and oversee initiatives and projects designed to evaluate and improve resource utilization and operations within the Rural and Appalachian Healthcare Extension.
Position Summary
The Manager participates in the development of operational strategy and is accountable for directing operations of the Rural and Appalachian Healthcare Extension. This position will oversee the relationship with Strategic Planning, Marketing and Communications, and Research and supervise the administrative assistant. The Manager supervises and coordinates multiple activities, including statistical, performance and managerial reporting, decision and budget support, capital planning and execution, and quality and operations improvement initiatives. The Manager will work in close collaboration with internal partners across the Medical Center and University as well as external partners to facilitate progress toward strategic and operational goals.

Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Bachelor's degree in health administration, business or other related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required, master's degree may be desirable. Two years progressive healthcare experience required. Experience with Rural/Appalachian communities and relationship building with community partners.
Preferred Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification, project management experience. Experience leading and implementing Lean Six Sigma projects. Ability to manage operations and supervise team who works independently in assignments. General knowledge of disciplines within healthcare administration, OSU Extension. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects. Ability to learn new systems software. Independent and self-motivated.
On-going: Attends professional continuing education to remain up to date on best practices and technological innovations in the clinical disciplines.
