Job Summary
Work Shift1 - First Shift
Are you the type of person who enjoys working in fabrication? In this role you will be responsible to create nesting codes for Whitneys and lasers and to plot and sort prints through nesting software. This position is responsible for nested laser parts which account for 60% of total part volume, and we’re looking for someone who is interested in making a significant impact on departmental cost, quality, and delivery.
What You’ll Do
1. Nest hot orders and production parts.
2. Compose graphs of laser and nesting efficiencies.
3. Evaluate workload on lasers and develop a plan to divide the workload.
4. Plot prints for flame cutter.
5. Draw transfer files used only in plates of fabrication and repair DXF’s as required.
6. Reduce costs and shorten lead-times through daily continuous improvement activities, which may include kaizen events and application of daily improvement principles.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma required with minimum one year related job experience with fabrication and benders and/or combination of education and experience.
- Demonstration and application of NC code to provide quality modifications, knowledge of machine capabilities, strong attention to detail when examining prints, and ability to operate plotter.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and effectively manage time and resources while supporting the department.
- Ability to produce accurate, professional, and error-free documents in a timely manner.
- Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers.

- No travel is expected of this position.
Work LocationONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
