Green Expert Technology Inc. (GreenXT) is seeking PLC Programmer candidates to support the development, maintenance, and delivery of Machinery Control System (MCS) software for DDG-51 Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers.
The selected candidate will be interfacing with U.S. Navy civilian software and systems engineers, support contractors, U.S. Navy ship's force, OEMs and engineering management. Primary responsibility will be to contribute to all aspects of the software life cycle including but not limited to requirements definition, software development, documentation, testing, deployment, support, and maintenance.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming support for the development of new software and control logic
Provide lifecycle engineering support for computer-based and network-connected hardware and software systems
Support the overall design and development of new system functionality utilizing PLC hardware/software and Graphical User Interface (GUI) software
Provide testing, installation, and troubleshooting support for computer-based/IT systems in a shipboard or Land-Based Test Site environment
Develop and review technical documentation that includes, but is not limited to, requirements documents, design documents, test procedures, test plans, installation procedures, engineering analysis, and standard operating procedures
Provide design and integration support for hardware and software integration
Will interpret and understand associated electrical schematics, interface control documents (ICD), and drawings for implementation, review and/or redlines
Provide situational or status reports on findings, actions taken, and technical recommendations
Work will be performed onsite at NSWC Philadelphia
Provide distance and on-site customer support as necessary
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university
Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Bedrock, Eaton, Honeywell, or similar)
Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain this clearance upon position acceptance) will be required
Candidate must be available to travel at times up to 10%
Desired Skills & Experience
Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 standard
Experience designing, developing, testing and installing software and supporting software products
Experience writing, reviewing and maintaining technical documentation such as but not limited to new or existing software requirements, user manuals, product specifications, and training materials
Basic knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP
Experience supporting and troubleshooting networked, IP-based system hardware/software both onsite and via distance support
Ability to read electrical schematics, ICDs, and drawings
Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures with computer-based systems
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications
Basic Technical writing ability
Desired, but not required:
Knowledge of US Navy Ship Systems
Atlassian tools suite - Jira/ Wiki/ confluence
Microsoft Project
Prior industrial shipyard and shipboard experience
A combination of software and hardware installation experience
Work Conditions
The work is typically performed at client site locations in an office environment or Control System Test Labs. Additional work may be performed onboard US Navy Ships (pier side and at sea), which requires proper safety precautions, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ability to go up and down shipboard stairways (ladders); work may require some physical effort in the handling of materials, boxes, or equipment.
