Inside Machinist

Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Inside Machinist (Large Machine Operator) II's for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

Five years minimum experience as a Inside-Shop Machinist.

Must have experience on:

Horizontal Boring Mills, with multiple head attachments. Experience with large machining (parts up to as much as 30 feet in length) . Experience machining large weldments, and a variety metals is preferred. 2) Vertical Milling Machines, Bridge/Gantry type mills with multiple head attachments. Multiple axis machining background preferred, either 3 + 2, or 5-axis experience is helpful.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

Recommended Skills: Safety orientated ? Proficient with Numerical Controlled Processes, Manual Data Input, Tooling Offsets, Conversation Controllers, etc. ? Operate Manual and/or NC machines such as: lathes, mills, horizontal & vertical machining centers, EDMs, etc. Proficient with controllers such as: Fanuc, Siemens, Acramatic, Cincinnati-Milacron, etc. Proficient with the use of precision measuring instruments: outside/inside micrometers, depth mics, verniers, etc. Proficient with threading and the various measuring/gauging requirements Drilling/tapping processes ? Familiar with carbide machining processes ? Ability to comprehend complex mechanical drawings and blueprints ? Strong math skills ? Machinist or Tool & Die Apprenticeship

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High school diploma is required.

School must be accredited.
