Job Description
AMMC is seeking a highly motivated Associate Trader to support our senior fixed income and equity trading team in managing AFG’s investment portfolio. This is a dynamic, high-impact role based in our Cincinnati, OH office, with direct exposure to portfolio management, research, and trading strategy. The successful candidate will contribute to investment decision-making, leverage analytical tools, interact with investment brokers and collaborate with professionals across finance, accounting, actuarial, and tax departments.
Responsibilities / Opportunities
Assist senior fixed income traders in managing the structured products portfolios
Work closely with senior traders and analysts to research, analyze and monitor various investments
Monitor the investment portfolio and news flow impacting individual securities
Leverage technology and financial software to analyze the portfolio and potential investment opportunities
Produce periodic reports for management including portfolio performance, holding analysis, trade summaries, and opportunities and risks impacting various industries or securities
Interact with various finance, accounting, actuarial, and tax professionals within AFG
Build strong professional relationships with investment brokers and other business partners
Contribute to the team’s investment thesis and strategic positioning
Qualifications
Prior work experience (generally, 0 – 7 years) in an investment-related field is preferred but not required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
Strong working knowledge across a variety of financial products
Quantitative skills with basic knowledge of key fixed income instruments
Has obtained or is currently pursuing the CFA designation
Has strong technical, written and communication skills, is highly articulate and is able to explain complex concepts clearly and succinctly
Must have a strong desire to learn and a genuine interest in financial markets
Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Is able to work both independently and as part of a team
