Engineering Project Manager - Guidance & Control Systems
As an Engineering Project Manager at our premier defense technology firm, you will spearhead the development and delivery of next-generation guidance and control systems for the U.S. military. You will drive the technical vision and innovation while managing cross-functional engineering teams. Salary: $165,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver complex engineering projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines and budget.
Direct the technical strategy, operational planning, and development of guidance and control systems.
Manage program technical performance aligned with cost, scope, and schedule to ensure integration, testing, and verification of project requirements.
Lead the resolution of technical issues, ensuring solutions are communicated clearly and implemented effectively.
Develop and maintain detailed engineering plans, risk assessments, and potential opportunities.
Oversee adherence to engineering processes, standards, and practices specific to the program.
Interact and present project progress to senior company leadership and clients, ensuring high levels of transparency and stakeholder engagement.
Engage with functional managers to effectively allocate and manage project team resources.
Conduct periodic reviews to monitor project status and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Inspire and lead a high-performing engineering team; provide continuous feedback and manage performance to achieve project and organizational goals. Minimum Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field within Science, Engineering or Mathematics.
A minimum of 8 years relevant experience, or 6 years with a Master's degree.
Proven background in system engineering and successful leadership of engineering projects.
Experience with cost, scheduling, and technical management.
U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance; preference for current clearance holders. Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in leading developmental and production systems for U.S. Defense applications.
Advanced knowledge in current and next-generation military technologies and systems.
Expert understanding of target detection, acquisition, and prosecution systems.
Strong foundations in working with acoustic sensors, signal processing, and cyber security in control systems.
Track record of applying innovative problem-solving skills in complex environments. Skills:
