Summary/Objective At PFM, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality construction projects efficiently and effectively. As a Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our projects are meticulously planned and executed on schedule. Working closely with the project team, you will be responsible for preparing, updating, and managing project schedules to facilitate smooth project progression. Essential Functions
Schedule Preparation: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project schedules that outline tasks, timelines, and resource allocation.
Schedule Management: Regularly update project schedules to reflect changes in scope, resources, and timelines. Ensure that schedules are accurate, realistic, and aligned with project objectives.
Review and Optimization: Conduct thorough reviews of project schedules to identify potential bottlenecks, conflicts, or inefficiencies. Implement best practices for scheduling to optimize project timelines and resource utilization.
Communication: Facilitate communication between project team members regarding schedule updates, adjustments, and priorities. Keep stakeholders informed of any changes that may impact project timelines or milestones.
Risk Management: Proactively identify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and delays. Anticipate potential challenges and develop contingency plans to maintain project timelines.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of schedule updates, revisions, and correspondence. Ensure that all scheduling documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in scheduling and project management. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance scheduling processes and methodologies.
Competencies and Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a scheduler in construction, ideally with PFM projects.
Proficiency in scheduling software like Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
Strong analytical skills to identify schedule risks and develop mitigation plans.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Detail-oriented and organized with a focus on accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum three years of construction experience.
Understanding of project management principles.Preferred Qualifications:
Project management or scheduling certification (e.g., PMP, PSP, PMI-SP).
Knowledge of Lean construction principles.
Familiarity with BIM software and scheduling integration.
Understanding of construction industry regulations and standards.Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
