Job Standards

The Office of Public Utilities, Information Systems Division is seeking an individual to provide support for PC, server and network hardware and software in stand-alone and network environments. Evaluate, implement, maintain and monitor corporate, public, guest and remote network services, PC's, servers, connected devices (IOT), and wired and wireless infrastructures. Maintain and improve active directory, Security, VPN connectivity, switch network and servers as needed. Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain servers, wired and wireless infrastructures, PC's and connected devices. Install, configure and maintain software applications to support users and network. This position requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years college with course work in computer science, three years of experience in advanced server or networking technologies, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires an understanding of active directory policies, maintenance, and administration as well as documentation experience. Requires Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification in Microsoft Windows 2008 or higher and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or must obtain said certification within the probationary period from the date of hire. Experience with network security, Cisco Infrastructure, and Ruckus Wireless systems preferred. Knowledge in desktop, application, and server virtualization a plus. Must pass the required background investigation and sign the departmental confidentiality statement. A valid Class D driver’s license is also required. Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time residents.
