My client provides service-bid, design-build, and general contracting services to clients in the Commercial and Industrial Construction markets. They foster relationships with their clients to add value. With three offices and over 300 employees, they are among the top local contractors in the state of Alabama.
This client self-performs several functions and also has an in-house Steel Fabrication unit (subsidiary). This unit provides services to unrelated clients in addition to the parent GC, and is seeking a leader to step in and manage from the front while growing their market share across the state.

Job Description
Serve all subordinates including Production Manager, Quality Manager, Project Manager, Estimator, and Office Manager with direction, leadership, support, feedback, and at least annual Employee Performance Reviews and Change in Pay Recommendations. Make them productive, and help them attain their career goals. Hire and fire with President's approval.
Update or create a business development plan for the division. The Division Manager will likely manage customer relationships.
Prepare or delegate estimates. Sign off on all estimates up to the policy limits
Confirm existing estimating system (manual takeoff and spreadsheet) is appropriate, or implement new system. Tekla Power Fab has been purchased.
Manage or delegate project management, detailing and shop production
Confirm existing purchasing and management systems (combination of manual and Tekla Power Fab) are appropriate, or implement more of Tekla.
Improve company use of BIM for estimating, proposing, and coordinating.
Provide leadership of Quality Management System, including assisting with achieving AISC certification.
Review and negotiate contracts/ purchase orders.
Manage monthly financial statement with support from Accounting.
Work with existing Operating Plan/Budget and 5 Year Vision. The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, or Construction Management related field
10+ years experience in the Structural or Miscellaneous Steel Industry
Understanding of steel application with regards to construction
Long term growth in mind
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial individual
Fabrication estimating, project management, and accounting knowledge
Ability to manage teams and maximize production
Proven Sales / Customer Relationship experience What's on Offer
