About the Job

Position Overview

This is a temporary casual position, working 2 to 6 hours per week, in the Disability and WELLness (DWELL) Laboratory within the School of Kinesiology, College of Education and Human Development. The mission of the DWELL Laboratory is to transform the role of rehabilitation in health promotion among adults with acquired neurological disabilities, such as stroke. We aim to accomplish this by partnering with members of the rehabilitation and disability communities to design and test innovative interventions that leverage personally meaningful activities to promote health. Our current research is funded by the NIH National Heart Lung and Blood Institute.

The research interventionist will be trained to deliver a telehealth educational intervention protocol using synchronous videoconferencing. They are also responsible for providing clear and timely study documentation. The research sessions are delivered to each participant once per week during weekday, weekend, and/or evening hours selected based on participants' and therapist's schedules. The research interventionist will carry a caseload of 2 to 6 participants at any one time (this will vary depending on study recruitment). The candidate should possess excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

Coordination (100%)

Complete University of Minnesota CITI and HIPPA training

Deliver the study intervention per protocol to participants with stroke-related disability

Complete clear and timely documentation of study sessions

Follow study safety protocol

Apply good clinical judgment during all study interactions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a graduate occupational therapy training program (Masters or Doctoral)

Ability to work as a member of a diverse team that includes both academic and community partners

Strong orientation to detail and strong organizational skills

Comfortable learning and troubleshooting new technologies (e.g., REDCap database, videoconferencing on different types of devices)

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work independently

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range: The salary for this position is $27.00/hr. Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department.
