Sterile Processing Tech - Acute Care

ARMStaffing is looking for Allied Professionals – Certified Sterile Processing Techs in Pittsburgh, PA!

The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the safe and effective cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and other supplies. This role ensures the proper handling and preparation of materials for surgical procedures and other medical processes, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to strict protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Decontamination and Cleaning: Retrieving soiled instruments and equipment, decontaminating and cleaning them according to established procedures.

Sterilization: Operating steam and other types of sterilizers, ensuring proper loading, cycle execution, and validation.

Assembly and Packaging: Assembling and wrapping instruments and supplies in appropriate packaging material, ensuring proper labeling and identification.

Distribution: Preparing case carts and other systems for distribution of sterile supplies to the operating room and other clinical areas.

Quality Checks: Performing quality checks on instruments and equipment to ensure cleanliness, sharpness, and proper functioning.

Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of processing activities, including sterilization cycles and quality control results.

Infection Control: Demonstrating a strong understanding of infection control principles and practicing safe handling techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Certifications: Active CST and BLS.

Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and push and pull carts.
