We are now looking for Manager, M&A to join our team in Helsinki, Finland.

This position offers you an opportunity to contribute to UPM’s strategy implementation by participating as an integral team member to substantial transactions all the way from M&A strategy formulation and top management decision-making to project execution and steering. What you will do

Mergers & Acquisitions team as part of UPM Corporate Strategy team contributes to the realization of the company’s vision to lead the forest based bioindustry into a sustainable, innovation-driven, and exciting future. M&A team creates, facilitates and executes transactions towards that aim. As Manager, M&A your work will focus on developing and executing transactions on UPM group level as well as in different UPM business areas.

In this position, you will:

Analyze and develop transactions and enable decision-making related to them

Execute transactions, from end-to-end, e.g. by taking ownership in financial modelling, participating in deal structuring and negotiations, coordinating different due diligence streams, preparing decision-making materials and coordinating other execution efforts

Support and manage other development and special projects on UPM group, business area and business line level

Who you are

You have a Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or an equivalent degree

You have 2-5 years of work experience from Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity Capital Market transactions or similar, e.g. from an investment bank, M&A advisory or international corporation

You have excellent analytical skills and you have experience from financial statement analysis and valuation modelling

You have good organization capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion. Experience from project management is considered as an advantage

You are proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning. You excel at problem solving and have can-do attitude to overcome challenges

You have strong communication and collaboration skills

You may have experience in transaction negotiations, integration processes and/or business and strategy development

You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English – proficiency in Finnish is not a requirement but may be considered an advantage

You will be based in UPM head office in Helsinki and report to Sami Latva, Vice President, M&A.
