Summary:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of Project Engineers and Engineering Technicians, ensuring their completion of projects to meet customer and company objectives. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing new product development, New Product Introduction (NPI), and improving existing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the Engineering Team to successful execution of all technical aspects of awarded quote packages
Estimate and adjust quoted labor based on knowledge gained during production package development, then review increases or decreases with Quoting and Program Management teams for feedback and reasoning for discrepancies
Ensure production package development readiness through the contract review process, this includes responsibility for tooling, fixturing, equipment procurement, and all required resources
Understand and take appropriate action for material specific SDS and PPE measures
Review customer technical data packages and ensure their robust completion
Assess and manage Risk / Opportunities and execute actionable items to mitigate
Estimate Engineering development hours required and manage Engineering Lab capacity
Oversee team of Engineering Technicians and ensure their execution of clear, concise, complete, and correct process instructions
Review process instructions for accuracy, completeness, clarity, and sound build methodology
Confirm appropriate production tooling and equipment described in process instructions
Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement, constantly reviewing current build methods, order quantities, special requirements and considerations requiring process and equipment enhancements
Fundamental contributor to the CAPEX budget by driving technology advances and searching for automation opportunities
Select, develop, train, and supervise staff by defining and implementing policies and procedures that drive Standard Work and overall best practices
Maintain and improve upon existing methods and procedures for managing customer programs
Through Tier communication and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methods, lead cross-functional efforts with the Production, Operations, and Quality Teams to review and monitor site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Provide input to the Operations and Planning Teams to ensure meeting Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) goals by spearheading NPI efforts

Qualifications:
Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills
Self-starter with 10 plus years of Engineering Project Management experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with four plus years of cable manufacturing experience
Or
Master's degree in Engineering with two plus years of cable manufacturing experience
Work Environment:
Although a managerial opportunity, success in this position requires being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the manufacturing processes and technical capabilities throughout the site. This role requires hands-on technical experience with cable assembly components, parts, and manufacturing. This role is primarily in a professional office environment but demands direct accessibility to Engineering Technicians and Production personnel to observe manufacturing processes.
