Electrical Power Design Engineer

Location: Alpharetta, GA Hybrid Remote / Onsite ️ Travel ~25%

We’re hiring a Power-Focused Electrical Design Engineer to join a highly respected firm known for its high employee retention (8+ years on average), strong leadership, and meaningful project work in the heavy industrial sector — including pipelines, refineries, and petrochemical facilities.

This is a direct hire role with a flexible salary range of $110K–$150K, depending on experience. If you’re seeking a hands-on, technically challenging role in a team-oriented environment, this is absolutely worth a conversation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead the development of comprehensive electrical design packages suitable for PE stamping and plan check submittals.

Create and manage detailed documentation including:

Load studies, single line diagrams, conduit/cable schedules

Plot plans, lighting, grounding, and equipment installation details

Bills of material and construction specifications

Perform site walkdowns, factory acceptance testing, and commissioning support for power systems.

Collaborate with project managers to maintain quality, budgets, and schedules.

Support proposals, technical scoping, and cost estimation for new project opportunities.

Provide occasional after-hours support to internal or external clients.

Travel up to 25% as needed (including air travel) for site visits and client work.

Technical Experience We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for heavy industrial environments.

Knowledgeable of the requirements detailed in National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE 3000 Series (formerly known as color books), and API 500 (preferred)

Proficiency with:

AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel

Power system modeling tools: ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower

Relay settings: GE Multilin and SEL

Experience with area classification drawings, motor schematics, and lightning protection is a plus.

Strong technical communication and documentation skills are a must.

Education & Licensing

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.

FE certification required.
