GIS Mapper (On-site)

We are seeking a highly motivated GIS Mapper for a key client in the utility industry. This role will focus on maintaining and updating geospatial data within a GIS system, performing analysis, and generating custom maps. The ideal candidate will have experience using GIS applications, strong attention to detail, and an understanding of how relationships work within GIS systems.

Maintain and update GIS model for electric systems (this role does not include gas work).

Perform analysis, generate custom maps, and create reports and tabulations from GIS data.

Resolve conflicts in data, mapping, connectivity, and land issues through both office and field investigations.

Support major utility projects like facility relocations, load rearrangements, and new business.

Maintain service point data and its relationship to the feeding source transformer.

Track the lifespan of utility assets, including inspections, history, and attachments.

Operate office equipment such as printers, plotters, and scanners to produce standard prints and ad-hoc maps.

Fieldwork is minimal (around 5-10% of the time), but candidates must be comfortable with occasional site visits, using their own vehicle if necessary.

Collaborate with other employees on plant work, whether in the office or out in the field.

Required Qualifications:

1-2 years of GIS experience (either through work or education, such as internships or college coursework).

Proficiency in GIS applications and understanding of how data relationships work in GIS.

Familiarity with GIS-related software (MicroStation, AutoCAD experience is a strong plus).

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment.

Valid driverâ s license and ability to travel to various locations as required.

Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows-based applications.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
