The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a long-term position in the Freeport, Texas area: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Prior maintenance experience in a production / manufacturing environment preferred.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of five (5) years of continuous and current industrial maintenance in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.

The Maintenance Technician will operate as an essential part of the business operation by keeping production equipment operating smoothly and effectively, provide accurate and reliable quality control analysis in a timely manner, and ensure all instruments are available and in statistical control, correcting or escalating issues as needed.

An Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical, or engineering specialties is preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities: Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; examining form and texture of parts.

Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.

Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.

Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Drive forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, small cranes etc.

Follow standard operating procedures for Maintenance duties; suggest and document improvements to standard work.

Support operations and production as needed.

Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations Other requirements: Ability to use various power and hand tools very efficiently and actively.

Must be able to work independently and as a team member to meet Company and departmental goals.

Possess the ability to deal tactfully with coworkers at all levels, customers, vendors and the general public.

Ability to prioritize multiple equipment repairs and assignments Must be competent at working with electrical equipment, i.e., motors, lights, switches/outlets, breakers and cable.

Basic computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office & Excel Capable of becoming forklift & scissor lift certified.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effective both orally and in writing.

Ability to work under minimal supervision Must have excellent command of the English language.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: The physical demands and work environment described herein is a representative of those that generally must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Occasional exposure to various chemicals and fumes.

Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e.

hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs) This position primarily involves standing (for prolonged periods of time), walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lbs.

and maximum weight of 25 lbs., approximately), and reaching/lifting (minimum weight of 5 lbs.

and maximum weight of 50 lbs., approximately) The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone, radio, and in person.

Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.

The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all time.

This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner.

The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required.
