Position Summary:
The Grinding Manager is responsible for managing all operations within the Grinding Department, ensuring products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations. The role also emphasizes maintaining top standards in food safety, product quality, and workplace safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
Integrates the grinding department's functions into the overall business plan by identifying production needs, allocating resources, and evaluating performance for optimal results and return on investment.
Collaborates with Supervisors and Lead personnel to provide direction on staffing decisions and to monitor the department's performance.
Proposes, tests, and implements new equipment to enhance productivity, efficiency, and maximize return on investment.
Keeps precise records of production flow and yield, generating reports when needed.
Participates actively in the HACCP team, ensuring compliance with food safety and product quality standards.
Engages as a proactive member of the safety team, regularly reviewing safety measures and recommending improvements to maintain a safe work environment.
Works closely with the Sales and Research & Development teams to improve or modify products to customer specifications and address complaints effectively.
Coordinates with the maintenance team to ensure machinery is operational in a timely manner.
Works closely with the USDA inspector to maintain compliance with federal regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the food manufacturing industry.
Solid understanding of USDA and OSHA regulations.
Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
