Design Engineer
Duties:
Collaborate with customers, engineers, and designers to produce a system or product design to fit the scope of work
Review and comprehend customer generated specifications and requirements.
Create/maintain 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings defining and documenting manufacturing information.
Collaborate closely with internal and external manufacturing departments to ensure accurate and timely manufacturing of components.
Create bills of materials.
Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and to ensure designs meet required specifications and regulatory standards
Create customer documentation such as user manuals, spare parts lists, maintenance manuals and drawings. Drawings include Mechanical assemblies, pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic diagrams.
Requirements:
Experience using 3D CAD system – SolidWorks
Experience using 2D CAD system - AutoCAD
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant degree or practical work experience.
5 Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Previous manufacturing experience dealing with saw, burn, cut and drill technologies, sheet metal fabrication
Demonstrate experience in previous design work.
Fluent in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite. Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with ERP systems
Effective spoken and written communication skills
The ability to operate both independently and in a collaborative, team environment.
Other Preferred Requirements and Skills:
Ability to research and specify key components that are fit for purpose.
Experience with mechanical piping/valve engineering and design
Excellent organization, prioritization, and coordination skills
FEA software experience.
Previous experience or exposure to ASME pressure vessel design
Ability to read and understand P & ID diagrams
