The Pennock-Aquatic Conservation and Ecology Lab in the Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology at The Ohio State University is seeking a motivated Post Doctoral Scholar to collaborate on multiple research projects related to Aquatic Ecology and Fish Ecology including, but not limited to, riverine habitat assessment and restoration, fish population and community dynamics, fish movement, and aquatic invasive species management. The Post Doctoral Scholar will also have opportunities to develop new projects and assist with ongoing projects in the lab. The Post Doctoral Scholar will have opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate students and to collaborate on future grant proposals and follow-up projects. Support to present findings at scientific meetings will be provided. Ongoing and upcoming projects in the lab include assessing movement and habitat use of native fishes in the Scioto River in Ohio, movement and habitat use of Ohio River Sauger, assessment of tributary spawning potential for invasive carp, movement of invasive carp in the Ohio River, fish community dynamics in Ohio streams, among others.

Required: PhD in ecology, biology, earth systems, or closely related field. Four years of relevant experience conducting research of populations, communities, or ecosystems. The Post Doctoral Scholar should have specialized knowledge of population and community modeling or coding. The Post Doctoral Scholar should have demonstrated ability to analyze population or community datasets using statistical software, such as R, data management skills, and demonstrated communication of project outcomes in written and presentation forms. Importantly, this individual must be able to work independently and as a team member.

The Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Post Doctoral Research Associate to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. With 38 departments, 20+ world-class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members, students have the unique opportunity to study with the best artists, scholars, and scientists in their field. The lab currently consists of a postdoc, two PhD students, a master's student, and two new master's students will start in Fall 2025.

The pay range for this job profile is $61,008 annually. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
