Gifthealth is a leading provider of innovative technology solutions for the healthcare industry. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated IT System Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on the administration, maintenance, and support of our critical pharmacy systems and infrastructure, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a keen awareness of the unique operational and regulatory requirements within a pharmacy setting.
Responsibilities:
System Administration and Maintenance:
Install, configure, and maintain pharmacy-related servers, including operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), storage solutions, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Manage and monitor pharmacy application servers, databases (e.g., SQL Server), and associated software.
Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery procedures, specifically tailored for pharmacy systems.
Ensure the security and integrity of pharmacy systems and data, adhering to HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide timely and effective technical support to pharmacy staff for system-related issues, both remotely and on-site when necessary.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems related to pharmacy applications, dispensing systems, and related technologies.
Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and system configurations in a clear and concise manner.
Infrastructure Management:
Manage and maintain network infrastructure components relevant to pharmacy operations, including LAN/WAN connectivity, firewalls, and VPNs including a mix of cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
Monitor system performance and capacity, proactively identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks or issues impacting pharmacy workflows.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of pharmacy systems with the broader IT infrastructure.
Project Participation:
Participate in IT projects related to the implementation, upgrade, or integration of new pharmacy systems and technologies.
Contribute to the planning, testing, and deployment of pharmacy-specific software and hardware.
Provide technical expertise and guidance during project lifecycles.
Compliance and Security:
Maintain a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare and pharmacy compliance standards.
Implement and enforce security policies and procedures related to pharmacy systems and data.
Participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Documentation and Training:
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of pharmacy systems, configurations, and procedures.
Assist in the development of training materials and provide end-user training on pharmacy-related IT systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a System Administrator, preferably within a healthcare or pharmacy environment.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems administration.
Experience with database administration (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software.
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical staff.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and data security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with pharmacy information systems (PIS) such as [mention specific systems like Epic Willow, Cerner Millennium Pharmacy, etc.].
Knowledge of automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and their integration with pharmacy systems.
Experience with HL7 and other healthcare data exchange standards.
