Signal Processing Engineer

BlueWave is hiring a Signal Processing Engineer for a fast-growing defense tech client based in Austin, TX. As Signal Processing Engineer you will be responsible for building cutting-edge tactical systems combining real-time embedded software, advanced imaging, and AI/ML. This person will write embedded code, build computer vision algorithms, and integrate everything with flight vehicle hardware. The ideal candidate has experience in defense systems, strong C++/Python skills, and a deep understanding of computer vision and real-time processing.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain real-time embedded software for missile guidance, control, navigation, and communication systems.

Integrate embedded software with flight hardware (sensors, actuators, and processors).

Design and optimize computer vision algorithms for object detection and tracking.

Apply machine learning and deep learning models (ex. TensorFlow, PyTorch) to improve visual recognition performance.

Develop and execute rigorous test plans to ensure software reliability and performance.

Analyze and optimize imaging data to support vision algorithms and system performance.

Deploy real-time vision systems on edge devices with limited processing capacity using commercial processors

Work cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and project teams.

Requirements:

Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages like Python, C, and C++.

Computer Vision Libraries: Familiarity with libraries like OpenCV, TensorFlow, Jetson and PyTorch.

Machine Learning: Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning techniques.

Image Processing: Knowledge of image processing techniques and algorithms.

Data Structures and Algorithms: Solid foundation in data structures and algorithms.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Defense space experience preferred, ideally someone with hands-on missile development experience.

Security clearance is not required but candidates must be able to obtain one if necessary.
