JOB SUMMARY: The Sanitation Operator will train all production and quality associates in the correct sanitation methods. The Sanitation Lead will be responsible for leading good sanitation practices throughout the plant.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED
Knowledge in food processing and / or chemical processing, GMP’s, clean design, etc.
Familiarity with food safety programs like SQF, Kosher, etc.
High school diploma or GED
Ability to work off shift, and weekends as needed

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructs new and existing associates on proper cleaning techniques and procedures.
Sets standards for sanitation performance.
Performs preventive chemical inspections and service.
Oversees the floor scrubber program, assuring listeria free
Maintenance of sanitation equipment.
Maintains the inventory of the cleaning equipment
Assures CIP carts are maintained and functional
Works with staff to determine cleaning gaps, under guidance of the environmental supervisor.
Assists with the 5S program, working with management.
Maintains sanitation programs and updates SOPS as needed.
Reviews and verifies inputs on daily observation sheets
Stays current with new practices.
Assists with the environmental monitoring program
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Able to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form
Know, understand, and comply with the company’s food safety, safety and health goals and its objectives
Key proponent of good sanitation practices
Provide management with written reports of unsafe conditions or unsafe acts as needed
Troubleshooting: Able to determine causes of operating errors and decide on the most effective and efficient course of action to repair
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel crouch, climb, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor
Occasionally, the employee may be required to lift to up 50 pounds
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat and cold temperatures and sometimes wet conditions
