Position Overview: The Business Development Representative will proactively identify, prospect, and close new client accounts specifically for permanent placement staffing needs. This role requires a hunter mentality, strong relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of client hiring needs, compensated significantly through a performance-based commission structure.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development: Proactively identify and target prospective clients needing direct hire recruitment services through cold calling, networking, referrals, and marketing leads.
Sales Cycle Management: Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact and needs assessment to proposal presentation, negotiation, contract closing, and successful placement initiation.
Client Relationship Management: Build and cultivate strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers (HR, Hiring Managers, Executives) at client companies.
Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough discovery to understand client objectives, culture, specific hiring challenges, and requirements.
Solution Presentation: Clearly articulate Stone Hendricks Group’s value proposition, tailoring presentations to specific client needs.
Collaboration: Partner closely with internal recruitment teams to ensure accurate communication of client requirements and facilitate candidate sourcing.
Negotiation: Lead contract and fee negotiations ensuring profitable, mutually beneficial agreements.
Performance Tracking: Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs, maintaining accurate, detailed records of activities in the CRM system.
Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions related to direct hire staffing.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications (Required):
Proven B2B sales experience with a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Strong understanding of consultative sales processes.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional negotiation and closing abilities.
Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working in a commission-driven environment.
Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficiency with CRM software and standard office tools (Google Workspace).
Qualifications (Preferred):
Prior experience in staffing agency sales, particularly in direct hire/permanent placement.
Established network within targeted industries or geographic areas.
Understanding of the full recruitment lifecycle for permanent roles.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
