Press Brake Operator

Job Purpose: Operation of the Press Brake Machine

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Independently set up & operate Amada Press Brake Machine

Ensure proper tooling and fixturing as well as reporting operation times Interfacing with programmers, engineers and other team members for problem solving

Work within tolerances of +-.005” in sheet metal up to ” thick

Can perform single and multiple set ups on single brake

Program and form parts at press brake using blueprint within designated tolerance

Record inspection measurements using dial/digital calipers, protractors, and height gages

Work with aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and copper materials

Study, understand, and follow assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, job travelers, facility procedures, and parts list

Maintain orderliness of product, equipment, tools, supplies, ESD, part handling and inventory points within Fabrication

Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or by reading measurements

Report assembly, equipment, material, and/or quality problems to Manager to obtain additional resources or direction

Complete preventive maintenance per schedule/instructions

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with PPE procedures, work rules, and regulations

Document actions by completing production and quality forms

Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related tasks, or rotating through different processes/jobs as required or directed

Operate per established Company Policies and Procedures

Other tasks as assigned by Management

Qualifications:

Press Brake experience of at least 3-5 years

Recent experience with running, set-up and operation of press brakes, recent Amada press brake experience preferred

Experience with Deburr machines, Turret Punch Presses, Shears and Haegers a plus

Has performed single and multiple setups on one press brake

Require ability to read blue prints, dial & digital calipers & height gauges

Able to form parts within tolerance as tight as +-.005”

Program own dimensions off blueprints preferred

Must have worked with aluminum, steel & stainless materials

Works well both independently and as a team player

Oral and written communication skills for a team environment

Ability to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance

Detail oriented, organized, analytical

High School Diploma or Equivalent
