This position plays a critical role in fostering a positive labor environment, managing employee relations in a unionized setting, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and driving HR strategies that support plant operations. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong background in labor relations, employee engagement, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary HR contact for plant leadership and union representatives.
Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements (CBAs); manage grievances, arbitrations, and contract negotiations.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to ensure staffing levels meet production goals.
Coach and support managers on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
Implement and oversee safety programs in collaboration with EHS personnel.
Analyze HR metrics and develop action plans to improve workforce performance and engagement.
Manage training and development initiatives to build employee capabilities and support career growth.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
Support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts within the plant.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or HR certification preferred).
5 to 10 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience working in a unionized environment and handling labor relations matters.
In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Proven ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees and management.
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
Experience leading change management or culture transformation initiatives.
Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) a plus.
This role will sit ONSITE out of the Wilmington, DE facility.
