We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Controls Inspector to join our team. This position requires 40 hours per week working on job sites throughout the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Observes contractor and consultant activities during construction and provides photos and daily inspection reports to document work in the field.

Observes electrical installation for good workmanship and NEC compliance.

Reviews field installation versus the Contract Documents; notifies Contractor and Engineer of discrepancies.

Reviews shop drawings & RFI submittals and provides responses.

Works collaboratively with design engineers on investigating as-found site conditions.

Observes start-up and commissioning efforts.

Witnesses megger testing of power cables.

Witnesses wire continuity testing, instrument calibration and loop check activities.

Performs electrical and instrumentation field data gathering, including Instrumentation, PLC, RTU, and networking installations.

Performs field verification of control panels and electrical distribution systems.

Keeps track of the progress/schedule of all projects going on at the facilities.

Requirements

Requires a minimum of three (3) years of relevant electrical, instrumentation and industrial controls experience, preferably in the water/wastewater industry.

Must possess an understanding and ability to interpret the NFPA 70 (NEC), 70E and NFPA 820 as required.

Requires the ability to read and understand single-line diagrams, power plans, control schematics, conduit block diagrams, P&IDs (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams) and control descriptions.

Must be able to understand industrial plant networking for SCADA, PLC and other networked equipment.

Requires the ability to interpret, review and troubleshoot detailed control schematics and electrical schematics.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Ability to perform work with minimal supervision is a must.
