Steel Structure Installer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and certified Steel Structure Installer with expertise in electrical installation, automotive welding, and industrial equipment operation, specifically for Body-in-White (BIW) automotive projects. This role requires strong hands-on ability, leadership in electrical work, fluency in English, and certifications for height and equipment operation. The ability to speak Mandarin or Spanish is a strong plus, supporting effective communication in a multicultural team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform advanced electrical installations, including wiring, cable laying, and tray setup, for BIW projects.

Conduct welding work on steel structures according to automotive manufacturing standards.

Interpret and execute work based on electrical schematics, component layout drawings, and welding blueprints.

Lead and mentor team members on proper electrical installation techniques following BIW standards.

Ensure all work complies with industry safety regulations and project-specific requirements.

Operate forklifts and aerial lifters (with valid job certificate).

Safely work at heights in various industrial environments.

Use appropriate tools and materials for both electrical and welding tasks.

Communicate effectively in English with supervisors, engineers, and team members.

Maintain a safe and organized work environment and report issues proactively.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of electrical installation experience in automotive projects (BIW preferred).

Proven experience with automotive welding techniques.

Certified to operate forklifts and aerial lifters (job certificate required).

Certified to work at specific heights (documentation required).

OSHA 10 Certification is mandatory.

Strong English listening and speaking skills.

Ability to independently perform electrical wiring and cable tray installation.

Familiarity with BIW project electrical installation and cable tray standards.

Leadership skills to guide others in technical installation work.

Experience working with or for automotive manufacturers or Tier 1 suppliers.

Mandarin and/or Spanish language skills are a strong plus.

Working Conditions:

Physically demanding; must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights or in confined areas.

Work may be performed in industrial, construction, or outdoor environments.

Willingness to travel, work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
