We are looking for a Career Server to join the Fiddler’s Family and share their passion for hospitality with our members, guests, and fellow staff members. Fiddler’s Elbow hosts a wide range of events from comedy shows and concerts to Fourth of July celebrations and New Year’s Eve festivities, our annual FiddleFest Music and Food Festival, Member White-Out Party, golf outings and sporting events. We also host smaller clubs within the Club, such as our beloved Book Club and Cigar Club. Our members host many private events like weddings, social events, and celebrations of life milestones.
The Career Server is responsible for delivering impeccable service to Members and guests in our food and beverage outlets including fine, casual, and a la carte dining and exquisite Member and Club events. As a full-time, year-round staff member, the Professional Server will bring experience and knowledge to our food and beverage operations. They must be fully knowledgeable and involved in all aspects of the dining experience. Proven ability to execute an elevated fine dining experience and advanced understanding of all food and beverage items served.
Responsibilities:
Promote a positive work environment through effective communication and creating a warm and engaging atmosphere.
Work well with fellow staff members; always coming from a place of kindness and respect.
Ensure standards are consistently maintained at the highest level daily.
Ensure dining room, tables, chairs are immaculate prior to and throughout service.
Greets Members and guests warmly as they enter and are seated at their table.
Ensure tables are set to each outlet’s standards including utensils, napkins, and any other needs.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and steps of service.
Train with culinary team to understand each outlet menu, specials, and modifications; able to suggest menu items and upsell.
Present Members and guests with menu and specials; answer any questions regarding the menu.
Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.
Possess a drive for service to include assisting Members, guests, and fellow staff members in creating memorable experiences.
Anticipate member’s needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all members and guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Engage with Members and guests; always maintaining a positive demeanor.
Stay in the know on what’s happening at the club to speak with Members and guests on club offerings and activities.
Take food and beverage orders and deliver to the kitchen timely.
Deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to Members and guests.
Ensure that food is prepared correctly and to each Member’s satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.
Collect plates and clear the table as Members and guests finish their meals.
Assist with other tasks such as cleaning the dining areas, preparing silverware, glassware, and condiments.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
Performs other related duties as assigned by Food and Beverage leaders.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be engaging, able to speak well, connect and create WOW moments for Members and guests.
Ability and willingness to work in each outlet: including a casual, fast paced dining room, a fine dining restaurant, banquet and event facilities and pool dining, in season.
Ability to make decisions on their own for service recovery and creating memories for Members and guests.
Ability to operate point-of-sale systems correctly and timely.
Well-organized; ability to perform with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
Ability to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
Work cohesively with other staff as part of the team.
Education and Experience Required:
Must be at least eighteen years old.
High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a restaurant server in a luxury or 4–5-star restaurant preferred.
TIPS certification preferred.
Required to speak, read, and write in English. Fluency in an additional language is a plus.
Maintaining Professional Server Status:
Qualified and selected candidates will be interviewed by Human Resources, Food and Beverage Managers and complete a server trial in front of our Executive Chef/Director of Food and Beverage and Director of Operations.
Upon hiring, Professional Servers must successfully complete our paid Professional Service Training Program and cross train in all Food and Beverage Outlets.
To maintain our high level of standards for this position, all Professional Servers will receive regular feedback on their performance.
Schedule and Work Life Balance:
Flexible availability is required for this position to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Will be scheduled minimum of 40 hours per week, all 52 weeks of each year.
Two scheduled days off per week; plus, regular opportunities for overtime.
A la carte dining room shifts end by 10:00pm on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 11:00pm on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Rotating schedule to allow each Professional Server to have one weekend off per month.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas; reach up and down, push and pull.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors with various weather conditions including, heat, cold, wind, and rain.
Ability to work with all food products and food ingredients involved; ability to use all senses to ensure quality standards are met.

Professionalism:

Appearance/Dress Code:
Be an example to other staff members.
Uniforms should be pristine, wrinkle free, and sized appropriately.
Clothing that is too tight or revealing is not permitted at any time.
All shoes must be slip free and safe for walking through kitchens.
Nametags must be worn at all times.
Any staff members who are not dressed appropriately should be sent home to change.
Operationally:
Be an example to other staff members.
Dining room and all outlet areas are cleaned and maintained throughout shift.
Equipment is in working order, supplies are stocked with everything needed for the shift.
Check in with all staff members daily, see if they need anything:

more stock of something
are they experiencing any difficulties
encourage them and support them throughout the shift
Are they having a great day, if not, how can you make it better?
Check in with members and guests, ensure everything exceeds their expectations. If not, make sure to WOW them and make notes for their next visit.
Check in with kitchen staff, do they need anything, are they in the weeds, keep the communication flowing between kitchen and service staff.
Onboarding:
Check in on the new hire regularly. Starting a new job and being the new person is difficult, make sure they are engaged, learning and part of the team from day one.
Foster an environment where all staff members are included, and their opinions are valued.
Growth and Development of Staff Members:
Get to know your fellow staff members.
Mentor and support all staff members every day.
Communication:
