Job Title: Quality Assurance Analyst – Manual Testing

Location: Lansing, MI Hybrid

Rate: 35-45/hr on a w-2 Contract, NO C2C

Overview:

This is a manual quality assurance position. The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for ensuring that developed solutions meet business requirements, are free of defects, and deliver a high-quality user experience. The QA Analyst independently identifies and defines the necessary tests, tracks progress and results throughout each testing cycle, and evaluates overall usability.

Responsibilities:

Understand the project scope and work with Business Analysts to align with project objectives.

Develop and execute test cases in alignment with project timelines.

Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) training and collaborate with Business/Product Owners.

Resolve critical IT issues within the QA scope.

Ensure completion and review of QA documentation in alignment with organizational processes.

Participate in requirement and design review meetings.

Collaborate closely with Business Analysts and Product Owners to clarify functional and non-functional requirements.

Prepare test data and validate readiness of the QA environment, including any necessary interface integrations.

Manage defects, ensuring traceability from test cases to requirements/user stories.

Set defect severity levels in partnership with Product Owners and assist in backlog prioritization.

Facilitate defect triage sessions as needed.

Partner with Technical Leads and Developers to clearly communicate defect details.

Work with UI/UX Designers to identify usability concerns and provide feedback.

Coordinate with QA Specialists for complex or unique deliverables.

Contribute input and analysis for Go/No-Go project decision-making.

Required Experience and Skills:

3 to 5 years of manual testing experience

Experience working within both Waterfall and Agile environments

Certification in QA testing or 24 semester hours in IT coursework

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong analytical abilities to identify software defects and usability issues

In-depth understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
