What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities):
Develop Robust Test Hardware: Design and build production test fixtures and systems, including circuit design for device interface, test head enclosures, wiring harnesses, and integrated safety mechanisms.
Create Efficient Test Software: Develop and maintain test programs, focusing on device communication (digital interfaces), instrument control, test sequence management, database integration, and comprehensive data logging.
Innovate for New Products: Take the lead in designing cutting-edge test solutions for Dataforth's next-generation product lines.
Support & Enhance Existing Systems: Maintain and improve current test hardware and software used across all Dataforth product manufacturing lines, ensuring uptime and accuracy.
Project Ownership: Manage the technical execution, scheduling, and cost considerations for your assigned test development projects, working with autonomy based on defined requirements.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with design engineers and manufacturing personnel to understand product requirements and ensure seamless test integration.
What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications):
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a closely related field.
2+ years of direct experience in designing, developing, and implementing product test solutions, encompassing both hardware and software aspects.
Strong foundational knowledge in analog and digital circuit design relevant to test fixtures and interfaces.
Proficiency in a relevant programming language used for test automation and instrument control (e.g., LabVIEW, Python, C#, C++).
Experience using and controlling standard and high-performance test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred:
Experience with database interaction for test data storage and retrieval.
Mechanical design aptitude or experience (CAD for enclosures/fixtures) is a significant plus.
Familiarity with various communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet).
