Internship Overview: The WordPress Intern will support MMG’s website design and development efforts over the summer. Based in our Southwest Omaha, NE office, this is a paid, part-time internship (32 hours per week) offering $15/hour. The intern will work closely with designers, developers, and marketing strategists, gaining practical experience building, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress websites.

Start and end dates are negotiable based on academic schedules.

What You'll Work On:

Assist in designing and building client websites using WordPress themes and page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery)

Support website maintenance tasks, including updates, backups, and troubleshooting

Help ensure websites are mobile-optimized, accessible, and SEO-ready

Apply brand consistency and UX/UI best practices across site projects

Collaborate with graphic designers to integrate visual assets

Test websites for functionality, responsiveness, and user experience

Participate in project meetings to understand client goals and website requirements

Skills You Will Develop:

WordPress website design and development fundamentals

Application of responsive design and mobile optimization best practices

Basic proficiency with HTML and CSS for site customization

Understanding of UX/UI principles in real-world web builds

SEO-friendly website development practices

Website performance testing and troubleshooting techniques

Project documentation and website management workflows

Ideal Candidate:

Currently pursuing a degree in Web Design, Web Development, Marketing, IT, or a related field

Familiarity with WordPress, website builders (Elementor, WPBakery), and basic coding principles

Passionate about web design and eager to gain real-world experience

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
