Job Description

The primary functions of this position are to manage a book of business comprised of middle market commercial lines insurance clients with an emphasis on full client retention while transitioning to take over the commercial lines department due to an impending retirement.

The Account Manager will provide quality service to clients, manage their relationships, and support Producers in their efforts to attract and retain clients.

The Account Manager will be the day-to-day liaison between the insurance company and designated accounts.

Responsibilities

Assist producers and other department staff in closing larger/complex new business as needed.

Demonstrate the necessary presence and leadership ability to lead the Commercial Lines department.

Manage daily servicing of clients which includes contract analysis, coverage and exposure

analysis, endorsement activity, problem-solving, renewal management, preparation of

quotes/proposals, and binding of coverage.

Assist in managing new business and renewal workflows of the department.

Analyze coverage for gaps and coverage enhancements for new business opportunities, including review of prior policies.

Oversee and delegate tasks to other team members as needed to ensure the client's needs are met.

Maintain proficiency in all technical aspects of the position including policy review, limits, coverages, and program design.

Remarket and manage renewal activities with the Producer.

Address client needs by communicating with the client to ensure that all appropriate resources are being utilized.

Manage and maintain information in EPIC according to Standards, Policies & Procedures. Qualifications/Experience

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum of ten years of account management experience in Commercial Lines insurance agency along with comprehensive understanding of all Commercial Lines insurance coverages, products, exposures, underwriting, and rating concepts.

Ability to manage a book of business with accounts having a premium range of between $2,500 to $1,000,000 per account.

A generalist industry knowledge - experience with real estate, technology, retail, construction, GovCon, ocean marine, and small contractors would be a big plus, but not required per se.

Having managed at least 100 commercial accounts in a book of business.

Professional designation is a Big Plus (CPCU, CISR, ACSR, ARM, CIC, CRM).

Experience with compliance, forecasting, annual audits, and reporting.

Professional presentation skills required.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment where time-management and prioritization skills are essential.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills, working knowledge of EPIC Although this position will be primarily responsible for internal account management functions and operations, previous leadership experience and a willingness to mentor others is valued.
